inspired by the ballet The Nutcracker by Tchaikovsky, The Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy Necklace takes it's design from the costumes worn by the dancers during the titular song.
In the Columbus Ballet production, the dancers wore layered tulle skirts that were vibrant jewel tones at the base and pastel on the top layer.

This piece aims to recreate those costumes in gems. using 4 colors of chalcedony, the pendant here mimics the color of the dancer's skirts perfectly, and the green velvet ribbon matches the touchs of green on the dancer's costumes.
